DIY Scent Diffuser Workshop

  • Flood's Hall 1515 East 52nd Place Chicago, IL, 60615 United States (map)

A workshop on beginner-level programming Arduino micro-controllers in order to create DIY scent diffusers/air fresheners, as well as explaining the properties of different essential oils that can be used for air freshening/sanitizing at home.

We hope the workshop contributes towards (1) empowering participants to use open-source hardware, (2) centering smell as a sense worth learning about, and (3) substituting the use of chemical air fresheners with DIY essential oil blending. The workshop would additionally serve as a “pilot” event for future workshops at the intersection of scent, air quality, sustainability, and citizen science.
