Potluck & Teach-In: Is Climate-Friendly Banking Possible?

  • Flood's Hall 1515 East 52nd Place Chicago, IL, 60615 United States (map)

Knowing capitalism caused the climate crisis, how do we create a just transition with our monetary and other resources? Join Rising Tide Chicago and Kola Nut Collaborative for a potluck and teach-in about the urgent need for climate-friendly banking, and radical alternatives under disaster capitalism.

Kola Nut Collaborative will talk about their amazing work in creating a mutual support network of time banking.

Plus, learn about Rising Tide Chicago’s campaign to pressure Chase Bank off of fossil fuels, and ways to get involved. Chase Bank is the worst funder of fossil fuel projects, pouring $196 billion into the oil & gas industry since 2016. We’ll talk about the global call for fossil fuel divestment, and the importance of moving your own money. If you are a Chase customer, join the national #CutTheChaseChallenge on Nov 22 and cut up your card! More info here: https://actionnetwork.org/events/cutthechasechallenge-social-media-storm/
